Frequently Asked QuestionsDesign & CostsHow much will my website cost? How big should my website be? How long will my website take to build? How much does hosting cost? Will my site need updating & how is it done? How and when are payments made? Web DesignHow much will my website cost? The cost of a website can vary enormously depending on many factors, the main one being size. The standard price per hour for our work is currently £15.00, although we can give a fixed price for your project prior to work commencing and based on your specified requirements. This method works well if you already know exactly what you want your website to achieve and how many pages and applications you need. In most cases we can plan the exact requirement of a website and give you a fixed price before work begins. Our fixed price packages are priced at £99.00 for a 3 page website and £150 for 6 pages. To offer such a low-cost option, we build these websites using similar layouts to existing sites. As such, the level of customisation is more limited than having a website built specifically to your design, however, your website banner, background and page colour, along with font type, size and colour all add up to an individual unique design. (Hosting not included) All work outside any agreed fixed price will be charged at £15.00 per
hour. How big should my website be?This depends on what you want your website for. For some businesses, perhaps a local handyman service or garage, a simple, single page advert is enough and provides all the business they need from local customers searching the internet. A 3 page website offers more flexibility and the ability to tell the world a little more about your business. A homepage to give the all important introduction to your company. A second page with more in-depth details of your products, services, etc., and a contact page where potential customers can get hold of you via email/telephone/contact form/address. This is by far the most common way to start internet marketing. An online shop would perhaps require more pages, (that's why we offer a 6 page package) depending on the number and variety of products on offer. In all cases we'll help you decide how best to represent your business
and how much space you need to successfully achieve your goals. How long will my website take to build? The time to design and build your website is dependant on the size and complexity of the site. A single page website can be online within a day providing you have the content text and images already edited and ready to publish. Likewise, our 3 and 6 page packages can be completed in a matter of days if the content is supplied pre-edited and ready to add. We will
advise you of the likely timescale of your website once your requirements
are confirmed, but you should always allow some flexibility for any
changes you may require during the design process. How much does hosting cost?As with every aspect of web design, website hosting costs can vary depending on the nature of your site, it's complexity and size. Visitor numbers and your content will also affect the required bandwidth and web space needed. As a guide, web hosting costs for most applications are likely to be in the region of £30 - £70 per year. We will discuss and
make recommendations regarding your hosting requirements once your website
needs are confirmed. Whilst we don't provide our own hosting packages, we
have numerous companies we work with on a regular basis. However, if you
already have a hosting package in place, we're more than happy to work
with any host provider. Will my site need updating & how is it done? How often your website needs to be updated is entirely up to you and dependant on the nature of the site. We offer a fully managed website service whereby you contact us to let us know the changes you need as and when you need them. For customers who wish to make their own amendments, or perhaps for those who require a content management system, we try to make this as simple as possible and offer advice as required. Our rate of £15 per hour applies to all updates, however, changing the content of a page is a much simpler task than the initial design and large changes can be made in a short space of time.
Discounted pre-paid rates for regular updates are available. Contact us with your requirements
for a no obligation quote. How and when are payments made?Payments are accepted via PayPal account, credit/debit card, internet banking or cheque/postal order. For new customers, a deposit of £100.00, or full payment if less, is required once your requirements are confirmed and before work commences, (a sample page may be created during confirmation). On larger projects, invoices will be sent and payments must be made as work progresses and on a basis agreed during the confirmation process. In all cases, full payment for work to date must be paid before your website/pages are uploaded/amended. For regular customers requiring updates we will agree suitable terms for both parties based on your needs. Please contact us to discuss your requirements further or to clarify payment options.
